What The Frick is an INFJ?

The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator is an introspective self-report questionnaire with the purpose of indicating differing psychological preferences in how people perceive the world around them and make decisions. The MBTI was created by Isabelle Briggs and her mother and was influenced by Carl Jungs theory that humans experience the world using four principal psychological functions – sensation, intuition, feeling, and thinking. Those dominate functions often relate to how we think, feel, understand things.  Some feel these determinations are vague and self applied like astrological signs and descriptions. Whether you believe in it or not, my Aries description is very much an accurate description of me and the INJF determination I…

    Time and Focus

I have so many blogs in my head that I feel the need to write but just can’t seem to get them done. Being a wife, mom and business owner I rarely have time to write, and really, unless you are a professional writer no one really does. But time isn’t the real obstacle here. Focus is. I am really good at starting blogs. But then I get to a point of where do I go from here? How do I wrap up my thoughts? I lose my focus and add another post to my draft mode collection and move on to my next thought. I think I’ll work on…

    How Was Your Experience?

Earlier today I saw Radcliff Police Department sitting outside my salon. Due to past traumatic experiences I have anxiety when I see Law Enforcement approach so I was watching closely. I was curious, yet thankful, as they went to the businesses around me but not mine. I later found out what they were doing. It seems Jeffery Cross RPD police chief wants local businesses to let him know how RPD is doing. My daughter said, “Seems they only give them to people who would give them a positive feedback” RPD isn’t short on emails and verbal reports of my opinions of them as an organization. I have met a few…

    Super Controversy

I don’t watch Super-bowls and I don’t have any interest in half time shows but I have a strong opinion on dress code hypocrisy. 2004 Super Bowl is infamous for the wardrobe malfunction heard around the world. The world went berzerk over a female nipple exposed on live TV. I’m a fairly modest person and I am not bothered by seeing a woman’s breast, especially not by accident. I support a woman’s right to breastfeed uncovered. I support equality in dress codes. Last night Adam Levine, who I had no idea existed, went topless during the half time show. I only know of this because of an article I read…

    I’m Offended That You’re Offended

As a highly opinionated and outspoken person I am aware of the risks of offending people. It doesn’t really matter what you say or how you say it, if you challenge someone’s beliefs, they are likely to be offended. I have been an outspoken blogger for well over a decade. So the range of people I have offended is probably larger than most. And for the most part I’ve kept my opinions pretty tame, because I am aware people are easily offended.  I think the important thing to note is that a mature person will say “that comment or photo is offensive but I can move past that”. Can you…

    Axolotl Science 🧪

I’ve always been interested in animal science. In high school I took several science classes including a  marine biology class. Keeping aquarium pets requires knowledge of biology, chemistry and ecology. I always hated the chemistry part. Our aquarium has always been fairly easy to maintain but now that I have Axolotls they are a little more work keeping a balanced ecosystem. I had been doing well, doing a water test every 3-5 days or so. Well last week I noticed my Axolotls were acting off. Thing 1 is usually a bit shy but Thing 2 was sluggish and hiding. I offered worms and they weren’t interested. I did a water test…

    Facebook Nazi

I’ve fussed about Facebook and their ridiculous community standards for years. I’ve reported things that are clear violations of standards and in some cases probably violated law, only to be told it didn’t violate. And I’ve seen Facebook take down posts that clearly didn’t violate. A while back I had a post taken down that said it violated FB terms. I have no idea what that post was. It didn’t show what it was on any device. I’ve never been in FB time out for attacking another individual. But Facebook has allowed that to happen to me. I wish FB would explain how and why a post was removed. The…
